Football coaching shakeups hit area schools: Lots of football coaching changes across the state: Green High School’s football coach for the last three seasons, Tom Stacy, submitted his resignation and will also retire from teaching physical education and
weight conditioning effective March 11. The Middletown Board of Education officially approved the hiring of Troy Everhart as Middle High School’s new football coach last night. Ameherst’s board of education also approved the hiring of Chad DiFranco as head football coach. DiFranco, 37, has been an assistant for 12
years, serving as defensive coordinator the past six seasons. He
replaces Kevin Fell, who left after four seasons to take the Elyria job. Last but not least: Gilmour Academy is accepting applications for a head varsity football coach. No word on a deadline for applications.
