Bucknuts.com caught up with Kalis at the Touchdown Club of Columbus Banguet on Saturday night and has this video interview with the star lineman.

In mid-September junior offensive lineman Kyle Kalis (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Edward) committed to Ohio State over scholarship offers from Wisconsin and Pitt. Many other schools had been showing strong interest including Alabama, Notre Dame and West Virginia.

After his commitment to the Buckeyes the 6-foot-5 and 300-pound Kalis, playing right tackle, played a huge part in leading St. Edward to a 15-0 record including a Division 1 state championship.

Kalis, who had over 70 ‘knockdown’ blocks his sophomore season, had approximately 100 more during his junior season.

Kalis is one of five Ohio juniors that have already committed to Ohio State as Jim Tressel and his staff work towards building another great Buckeye recruiting class. Kalis wants to help that cause as well.

Kalis was in Columbus on Saturday night being honored as one of the top juniors in the Buckeye State. While at the event Kalis took time to speak with Bucknuts about a variety of subjects including what he is doing to help the Buckeyes’ recruiting efforts, his future at Ohio State and much more.
