JJHUDDLE’S DIVISION V POWER  POLL: FINAL RANKINGS

1. Youngstown Ursuline (10-0)
The Irish notched their second undefeated season in three years by beating Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary 24-7. A dominating effort by senior and Mr. Football candidate Akise Teague, who had 323 yards of total offense and two TDs, highlighted the win. Ursuline begins its quest for a third straight state title by hosting North Lima South range (7-3) in a Region 17 quarterfinal Saturday. Previous: 1

2. Lima Central Catholic (9-1)
For just the second time this year, the T-Birds allowed an opponent to reach double-figures. That opponent however – high octane and then D-VI No. 2 Ada – was held 34 points below its average. LCC claimed a Northwest Conference outright title by beating the Bulldogs 35-21. This Saturday the T-Birds open postseason play by hosting No. 9 and undefeated Tinora in a Region 18 quarterfinal. 3. Kirtland (10-0)
The Hornets capped their second perfect season in three years by recording their third shutout in four games with a 55-0 win over Newbury. The Hornets host Independence (8-2) in a Region 17 quarterfinal on Saturday. Previous: 3

4. Fredericktown (10-0)
The Freddies entered this season with a new QB, a new RB and a new head coach, but the results turned out the same. Fredericktown notched its second straight 10-0 regular season with a 40-14 win over Loudonville. Six different players accounted for the Freddies’ TDs. Now Fredericktown will focus on the Region 19 postseason opener Saturday and their first round opponent – Woodsfield Monroe Central (8-2). Previous: 4

5. North Union (10-0)
The Wildcats posted the second undefeated season in school history and the second straight with a 79-26 win over Ridgedale. North Union led 58-14 at halftime. Travis Laird ran for two TDs, caught a TD pass and returned a kickoff for a TD as the Wildcats racked up 594 yards of offense. North Union is the No. 1 seed in Region 20 and will host Hamilton Badin (5-5) on Saturday in the regional quarterfinals. Previous:

6. Anna (8-2)
The Rockets closed the regular season with 49-7 win over Parkway and finished in a three-way tie for second in the Midwest Athletic Conference. This week Anna faces one of those teams it tied with for second as Coldwater (7-3) comes calling for the tandem’s second game of the season.  Anna beat Coldwater 38-28 in Week 3, ad will tr o do so again in Saturday’s Region 20 quarterfinal. 7. West Jefferson (10-0)
The Rough Riders capped their first undefeated season since 2007 by beating Liberty Union 20-13. QB D.J. Gray accounted for all three TDs (threw for two, ran for the other). West Jeff hosts Cincinnati Summit Country Day (7-3) Saturday in a Region 20 quarterfinal. Previous: 7

8. Cuyahoga Heights (9-1)
The Redskins won their fifth straight game – thanks in part to a Herculean effort from senior RB Alec Torgerson – with a 49-35 win over Independence. Torgerson carried the ball 45 times for 323 yards and six TDs. Cuyahoga Heights opens playoff action Saturday by hosting Hanoverton United (7-3) in a Region 17 quarterfinal. Previous: 8

9. Defiance Tinora (10-0)
The Rams finally had their consecutive shutout streak snapped at an amazing seven games in a 63-7 win over Edgerton. Regardless, Tinora has given up 25 points all season (allowed 18 points in a 37-18 win over Parkway in Week 2). The Rams open postseason play Saturday at No. 2 Lima Central Catholic (9-1) in a Region 18 quarterfinal. Previous: 9

10. Archbold (10-0)
The Blue Streaks won the outright Northwest Ohio Athletic League title – their first since 1990 – with a 35-0 shutout win over Liberty Center. QB Garrett Morton completed 18-of-36 passes for 318 yards and four TDs and Archbold rolled up 479 total yards. The Blue Streaks start Region 18 postseason play Saturday with a home game against Northwood (7-3). Previous: 10
