Last week was a good one for Delphos St. John’s, Bridgeport and Sycamore Mohawk. The Blue Jays, Bulldogs and Warriors each notched huge wins that solidified their ranking or gained them entrance in the JJHuddle Division VI Power Poll.

JJHUDDLE’S DIVISION VI POWER POLL WEEK 10

1. Delphos St. John’s (9-0)
The Blue Jays wrapped up their second straight Midwest Athletic Conference title and won their 17th straight MAC game by coming from behind to beat Marion Local 17-13. DSJ scored on its first and last possession – via TD passes from QB Jordan Leininger nonetheless – to beat the host Flyers. ML still had a chance to win but threw an incompletion into the DSJ end zone with 11 seconds left. This week the Flyers host New Bremen (2-7). Previous:

2. Ada (9-0)
The Bulldogs trailed for the first time all season after the first quarter but rallied with 41 unanswered points to beat Delphos Jefferson 48-22. The win was Ada’s 29th straight in the regular season and 23rd straight in the Northwest Conference. The Bulldogs will put their home win streak of 22 games on the line this week against fellow unbeaten Lima Central Catholic. The last time Ada lost at home it was to LCC in 2006. Previous: 2

3. Marion Local (7-2)
See Delphos St. John’s. The Flyers staged an epic with the Blue Jays. This week Marion Local is at Fort Recovery (2-7) in the final tune-up before the playoffs. Previous: 3

4. Bucyrus Wynford (9-0)
The Royals increased the state’s longest regular season winning streak to 47 games and won their 46th straight North Central Conference game with a 35-7 in over Bucyrus. This week Wynford looks to cap its fourth straight 10-0 season with  win over host Ontario (7-2). Previous: 4

5. Bridgeport (9-0)
The Bulldogs improved to 9-0 for the first time since 1996 with a huge 21-14 victory over previously unbeaten Shadyside. Senior RB Chris Smelley surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the third straight season by gaining 134 on 20 carries. This week the Dogs will look to tie the 1974 team as the only 10-0 teams in school history. Bridgeport plays at West Virginia foe Cameron (1-7). Previous:

6. Lehman Catholic (8-1)
Senior RB Kaleb Goins set the school’s career rushing mark with a 200-yard performance against Dayton Christian that pushed him to 4,577 total. Goins scored four TDs in the 53-7 win. This week the Cavaliers face a huge hurdle in rival Fort Loramie (8-1). Previous: 6

7. Mogadore (9-0)
The Wildcats notched their first shutout of the season and beat Waterloo 42-0. Six different players scored for Mogadore, which racked up 356 yards rushing on 44 carries. This week the Wildcats close at East Canton (2-7). Previous: 7

8. Covington (9-0)
The Buccs jumped on Arcanum early and didn’t let up in a 48-7 win. RB Tyler Noffsinger ran for 98 yards and two TDs on just four carries, while QB Isaiah Winston added 103 yards and two TDs on six carries. This week Covington is at Mississinawa Valley (1-8). Previous: 8

9. McComb (9-0)
The Panthers had a night to remember in a 63-2 victory over Arcadia. First, the victory secured McComb’s 13th Blanchard Valley Conference title and first since 2001. Secondly, senior WR Taylor Hanes tied a state record for TDs in a season with 27 after catching four in the win. Also making news was QB Andrew Dee who completed 12-of-17 passes for 263 yards and six TDs. This week the Panthers are at Pandora-Gilboa (5-4). Previous: 10

10. Sycamore Mohawk (8-1)
The Warriors make their Power Poll debut after rallying from a 14-6 halftime deficit to beat then-No. 9 Fremont St. Joseph 25-14. Senior RB Caleb Coil led the attack by rushing for 105 yards and two TDs. The victory clinched a share of the Midland Athletic League title. Mohawk’s only loss this year was a 7-0 Week 2 setback to No. 4 Bucyrus Wynford. Previous: NR

DROPPED OUT: No. 9 Fremont St. Joseph (lost  25-14 to Sycamore Mohawk)
