There wasn’t a ton of shifting in the JJHuddle Division II Power Poll. Only one team, Copley, dropped out. Tallmadge, the team that beat the Indians, moves in. See who else is where.

JJHUDDLE’S DIVISION II POWER POLL WEEK 10

1. Mentor Lake Catholic (8-1)
The Cougars beat Akron Hoban 24-3 and have allowed just 10 points in the last five weeks. Senior RB Richie Sanders returned from injury and ran for two TDs. This week Lake Catholic hosts Cleveland Central Catholic (6-3).  Previous: 1

2. Maple Heights (9-0)
The Mustangs continue to maul the competition and have only won two games by less than 28 points. This past week Maple Heights beat Lorain 40-7. Senor QB Shag Washington completed 16-of-21 passes for 192 yards and two TDs. This week the Mustangs host Warrensville Heights (1-8). Previous: 2

3. Winton Woods (8-1)
The Warriors notched a huge win by beating D-I stalwart Anderson 27-20 to claim the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division title. Winton Woods, which scored on the first play from scrimmage (80-yard run by QB Thomas Owens), rushed for 336 yards. Junior RB Aaron Kemper ran for 163 yards and two TDs on 18 carries. This week Winton Woods is at Glen Este (4-5). Previous: 3

4. Avon (9-0)
The Eagles led just 7-0 after the third quarter but pulled away in the fourth to record a 20-7 victory over host Fairview. QB Cody Schroeder threw for two fourth quarter TDs. Avon hosts Bay (3-6) this week. Previous:

5. Turpin (9-0)
The Spartans recorded their second shutout of the season with a 42-0 win over Little Miami. RB Cole Hazenfield ran for 121 yards and two TDs, while QB Connor Jansen threw for 166 yards and two TDs. This week Turpin hosts Kings (8-1) in what amounts to a FAVC Cardinal title game with tons of Region 8 playoff implications. Previous:

6. Howland (9-0)
The Tigers notched their second straight shutout and fifth in sixth games with a 48-0 win over Youngstown Liberty. They’ve got a chance to add to both streaks with Chaney (1-8) coming to town this week. Previous: 6

7. Marion-Franklin (9-0)
Despite 13 penalties, the Red Devils blasted Briggs 40-14. Paul Harris rushed for two TDs and Chad Jones caught a TD and returned a punt for a score as M-F led 33-6 at halftime. This week the Red Devils go for perfection against visiting Columbus South (1-8).  Previous: 7

8. New Albany (9-0)
The Eagles tallied 400 yards of total offense and beat Delaware Hayes 41-3. Alex Hake ran for 138 yards and two TDs and QB Bryant Bednarek threw two TDs. This week New Albany hosts Mount Vernon (6-3) in what amounts to an OCC Capital Division championship game. Previous: 8



9. Toledo Central Catholic (8-1)
The Irish rebounded from their first loss of the year to pound visiting Akron Buchtel 30-13. Senior RB Calebb Goings rushed for 93 yards and three TDs. This week TCC faces another big test in rival Toledo St. John’s (8-1). Previous: 10

10. Tallmadge (9-0)
The Blue Devils make their Power Poll debut after a big 34-14 win over previous No. 9 Copley. Tallmadge, which was just 2-8 last year, starts 15 sophomores and juniors. RB Tyrin Williams carried the ball 39 times for 174 yards and a TD against the Indians. Tallmadge hosts Green (5-4) this week and will win an outright Suburban League title with a victory.
