After losing five straight to its archrival DeSales, Watterson – ranked
No. 1 in the state in the JJHuddle Division III Power Poll
– improved
to 6-1 with a 31-7 win over the Stallions at Crew Stadium. The Eagles
defense forced three turnovers, two of which their offense cashed in for scores.

Player of the Game: Patrick Rhomberg, Watterson

The Lowdown:
Watterson started a new streak Friday.

After losing five straight to its archrival DeSales, the Eagles – ranked No. 1 in the state in the JJHuddle Division III Power Poll – improved to 6-1 with a 31-7 win over the Stallions at Crew Stadium. The Watterson defense forced three turnovers, two of which Rhomberg – Watterson’s standout QB – turned into TDs.

After a fumble on DeSales’ first possession, Rhomberg capped a quick drive with a 7-yard TD run. After a DeSales interception, Rhomberg gave the Eagles a 21-0 third quarter lead on a TD pass to Mario Dean. In all Rhomberg rushed for 71 yards and threw for 92.

Watterson held a 31-0 lead before DeSales scored with less than seven minutes left.
