For the second straight week the Top 10 teams in the JJHuddle Division VI Power Poll went undefeated. The biggest scare though came from Bucyrus Wynford, which stretched it’s state-leading regular season win streak to 45 games on a TD pass with 21 seconds left. Here’s how the rankings look…

JJHUDDLE’S DIVISION VI POWER POLL WEEK 8

1. Delphos St. John’s (7-0)
The Blue Jays have beaten Anna, St. Henry, Versailles and Coldwater in succession by the combined score of 124-26. Only Anna has reached double-digits. How many other teams in D-VI could do that? Maybe one – Marion Local. The Blue Jays and Flyers hook up next week in a colossal small school meeting. This week DSJ is at Fort Recovery (2-5). Previous: 1

2. Ada (7-0)
The Bulldogs, who are averaging 56 points per game, scored 63 for the second straight week in a 63-7 win over Convoy Crestview. This week a trip to Lafayette Allen East (3-4) awaits. Previous: 2

3. Marion Local (7-0)
The Flyers face Delphos St. John’s next week in what will be a Midwest Athletic Conference championship game. This week though Marion Local has to get past host Coldwater (4-3). The Flyers are coming off a 55-0 win over Parkway.  Previous: 3

4. Bucyrus Wynford (7-0)
The Royals increased the state’s longest regular season winning streak to 45 games and won their 44th straight North Central Conference game with a 27-20 win over Colonel Crawford. Caleb Miller caught a 14-yard TD pass from Zach Chatlain with 21 seconds left for the win. This week Wynford faces a huge test at undefeated Buckeye Central. Previous: 4

5. Bridgeport (7-0)
The Bulldogs produced their highest point total of the year and improved to 7-0 for the first time since 1998 with a 53-13 win over Hannibal River. Senior RB Chris Smelley ran for 185 yards and two TDs on 20 carries, while senior WR Garrett Price scored TDs three different ways (punt return, rushing and receiving). This week the Bulldogs host Beallsville (1-6). Next week a huge meeting with current fellow unbeaten Shadyside looms. Previous: 5

6. Lehman Catholic (6-1)
The Cavaliers won their sixth straight with a 48-12 decision over Dayton Jefferson. Senior RB Kaleb Goins ran for 142 yards and two TDs on 13 carries and is now just 307 yards shy of setting a new career rushing mark at Lehman. This week the Cavs travel to Delphos Jefferson (4-3). Previous: 8


7. Mogadore (7-0)
Led by senior RB Jake McAvinew who rushed for three TDs, the Wildcats posted a 21-14 win over Streetsboro. This week Mogadore is at Windham (2-5). Previous: 7

8. Covington (7-0)
The Buccs rolled to a 54-21 win over National Trail as QB Isaiah Winston accounted for five first half TDs (ran for three, threw for two). This week Covington faces its toughest test to date with a road game at fellow unbeaten Ansonia. This game is for the Cross County Conference title. Previous: 6

9. Newark Catholic (6-1)
Britt Wilder rushed for 169 yards and two TDs on 31 carries and the Green Wave defense held Bexley out of the end zone in a 27-7 win. The Lions lone score came on a 98-yard kickoff return. This week Newark Catholic faces a huge hurdle in visiting Licking Valley (5-2). Previous: 4

10. Fremont St. Joseph (7-0)
The Crimson Streaks beat Tiffin Calvert for the first time since 2006 thanks in part to RB Alex Burns who was filling in for starter Zak Bowman. Burns ran for 192 yards and scored two TDs (one receiving) as St. Joe’s won 27-6. Defensively, the Crimson Streaks held Calvert to 113 total yards. This week St. Joe’s hosts North Baltimore (2-5). Previous: 10
