There was no change in the JJHuddle Division V Power Poll this week as all 10 of the Top 10 teams won. Ursuline dominated D-II St. Charles, while Tinora notched its sixth shutout of the year. Anna, Kirtland and Lima Central Catholic continued to roll as well. Here are the latest rankings…

JJHUDDLE’S DIVISION V POWER  POLL WEEK 8

1. Youngstown Ursuline (7-0)
The Irish continue to impress. Ursuline blasted D-II stalwart Columbus St. Charles 49-20 last week. Senior RB Akise Teague and Tramain Thigpen each scored two first half TDs as Ursuline led 36-0 after two quarters. The Irish outgained the Cardinals 230-25 in total yards in the first half. This week Ursuline hits the road for another HUGE test at Steubenville (6-1). Previous: 1

2. Lima Central Catholic (6-1)
Since an opening loss to Delphos St. John’s the T-Birds have dominated and outscored their opposition 284-26. In their latest win, an impressive 41-7 throttling of host Columbus Ready, LCC head coach Jerry Cooper won his 200th game. Remarkably, the T-Birds are still getting no love from the AP voters. Wow. This week LCC hosts Bluffton (4-3). Previous: 2

3. Kirtland (7-0)
The Hornets notched their first shutout of the season with a 42-0 win over Middlefield Cardinal. Senior QB Paul Ghude ran for 92 yards and two TDs and threw for 229 yards and two more TDs. This week Kirtland plays at Beachwood (4-3). Previous: 3



4. Patrick Henry (7-0)
After two close wins, the Patriots were able to breath a little more comfortably last week in a 36-14 victory over Bryan. This week Patrick Henry puts its 27 game regular season win streak on the line against fellow unbeaten Archbold. This game will decide the Northwest Ohio Athletic League title and will have a serious impact on Region 18 playoff seeds. Previous: 4

5. Fredericktown (7-0)
Matt Smith rang up 176 yards and two TDs on 33 carries as the Freddies beat East Knox 41-12. Branden Smith also connected on two field goals and booted five PATs. This week Fredricktown will face a test at Utica (4-3). Previous: 5

6. North Union (7-0)
The Wildcats pitched their third shutout of the season with a 35-0 win over Elgin and have now beaten their last four opponents 191-20. This week North Union hits the road to face Cardington-Lincoln (4-3). Previous: 6

7. Anna (5-2)
The Rockets won their second straight in convincing fashion with a 61-3 victory over Fort Recovery. Anna tallied 510 yards of offense and put 34 points on the board in the second quarter alone. Defensively, the Rockets held Fort Recovery to 111 yards. This week Anna travels to St. Henry (2-5). Previous: 7

8. West Jefferson (7-0)
The Rough Riders held Millersport to minus-three total yards and exploded for 31 second quarter points en route to a 53-0 win. West Jeff had 457 yards of offense and six different players scored TDs. Millersport had 25 yards passing and minus-28 yards rushing on 23 carries. This week the Rough Riders host Harvest Prep (4-3). Previous: 8

9. Cuyahoga Heights (6-1)
The Redskins beat Richmond Heights 34-6. CH led 28-0 after the first quarter. This week the Redskins host Gates Mills Hawken (3-4). Previous: 9

10. Defiance Tinora (7-0)
The Rams defense is verging on ridiculous. Tinora recorded its fifth straight shutout and sixth of the season with a 41-0 win over Wayne Trace. The Rams have given up 18 points total this year and those all came in a 37-18 win over Parkway in Week 2. This week Tinora hosts Ayersville (3-4), which has scored six points in its last two games.
