Nate Anderson (6’9/2011) of Ashville Teays Valley High School has made his college choice. The big red head will take his talents to the Colonial Athletic Association and play for UNC-Wilmington.

Anderson, who is a pick-and-pop big, will be playing for North Carolina graduate, Robert “Buzz” Peterson. The senior couldn’t be more excited about his decision.

“Heck yeah,” Anderson declared! “I’m very excited about my decision.”

Anderson was trying to decide between UNCW, James Madison, and Wright State, but it turned out being a Seahawk was just too good to pass up.

“The way I can go down there with six other guys and be able to be with those same guys all four years is a big reason,” Anderson noted. “Plus, the chemistry I felt with the coaches was great.”

Anderson, who plays his school basketball under former Ohio State Buckeye, Doug Etzler, helped lead the Vikings to a district semis appearance last season before falling to powerful, Columbus Northland.

Anderson averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks per contest as a junior. He also carries a career 3.75 GPA.
