Darby made the plays it needed to to remain unbeaten. The Panthers used three interceptions, a fumble recovery and the standout play of QB Matt Allen to beat Upper Arlington 21-6 in the Central Ohio McDonald’s and JJHuddle Game of the Week. Click here for a recap and to vote for the Week 7 games.

HILLIARD DARBY 21, UPPER ARLINGTON 6

Player of the Game: Matt Allen, Hilliard Darby

The Lowdown:
Defense. That’s what won it for Darby. The Panthers remained unbeaten thanks in part to three interceptions and a fumble recovery. The Darby defense also rose the occasion late, holding Upper Arlington on downs late in the fourth quarter. Darby QB Matt Allen scored his team’s insurance TD with 51 seconds left on a 2-yard run.

The Panthers offense, which racked up 288 total yards, including 264 on the ground, was paced by junior RB Dante Talley who scored two TDs and ran for 47 yards on 11 carries. Allen added 62 yards on 16 carries and as a DB had one of Darby’s interceptions.

UA managed just 183 total yards, including 58 on the ground on 21 carries.
