There was not a lot of movement in the JJHuddle Division II Power Poll, but there is some big news. No. 1 Mentor Lake Catholic overwhelmed Eastlake North 68-0 and standout QB Shaq Washington returned for No. 2 Maple Heights. Only one Top 10 team lost (No. 9 Lake) and Copley replaces them in the rankings…click here for the complete list.




1. Mentor Lake Catholic (4-1)
The Cougars dominated Eastlake North 68-0. Senior RB Richie Sanders led the attack by rushing for four TDs. This week MLC tangles and hosts Holy Name (3-2). Previous: 1

2. Maple Heights (5-0)
The Mustangs have outscored foes 216-35 this season. In their latest win, a 35-0 decision over Shaker Heights, senior QB Shaq Washington (Cincinnati recruit) returned to action for the first time since sustaining a knee injury in Week 1. Uh-oh is right for the remaining teams on the Mustangs schedule. Up next? Winless Bedford. Previous: 2

3. Winton Woods (4-1)
Junior RB Aaron Kemper led the charge, running for 261 yards and six TDs, in a 42-7 win over Walnut Hills. The Warriors have won four straight after a season-opening loss to Elder and face Harrison (4-1) this week. Previous: 3

4. Avon (5-0)
The Eagles passed a big test last week by overwhelming North Ridgeville 34-8. QB Cody Schroeder and RB Adam Horrocks each scored two TDs. This week Avon gets winless Vermillion. Next week Firelands (1-4) awaits. Previous: 4

5. Turpin (5-0)
The Spartans continue to roll. Their latest victim was Milford who they smacked 55-34. Senior RB Will Stocker led the way with 240 yards and three TDs on 29 carries. Senior QB Eric Martin added 262 yards passing and four TDs. This week Turpin travels to West Carrollton (1-4). Previous: 5

6. Toledo Central Catholic (5-0)
Senior RB Caleb Goings ran for three TDs and the Irish shut out Toledo Bowsher 48-0. Bowsher managed just 84 yards of offense. This week TCC travels to Clay (3-2). Previous: 6

7. Howland (5-0)
The Tigers cruised past Carrick (Pa.) 48-0. This week Howland tackles Beaver Local (1-4). A meeting with Poland (3-2) looms in Week 7. Previous: 7

8. Marion-Franklin (5-0)
The Red Devils forced five turnovers and turned a close game at halftime (7-0) into a decisive win with three second half TDs by Chad Jones. Marion-Franklin hosts Africentric (2-3) this week. Previous: 8

9. New Albany (5-0)
Alex Hake led the Eagles with 131 yards rushing and three TDs in a 35-6 win over Watkins Memorial. New Albany, fueled by two early turnovers, jumped out to a 21-0 lead before Watkins gained a first down. The Eagles host Olentangy Orange (2-3) this week. Previous: 10

10. Copley (5-0)
The Indians make their Power Poll debut based on their undefeated record and impressive wins over Cleveland JFK and Orrville. Their latest win came 28-7 over Barberton. This week Copley hosts Lodi Cloverleaf (2-3). Previous: NR
