“It was a great fit,” said Grady’s AAU coach Eugene White.

Grady entertained several offers including Detroit, Central Michigan, Robert Morris, St. Bonaventure and even some late heat from Purdue among others, but Cleveland State always seemed to be the frontrunner.

“His family had a great relationship with Coach (Gary) Waters dating back to Earl Notions who he coached at Eastern Michigan,” White said.

Grady, known by many as ‘silk,’ enjoyed terrific sophomore campaign where he and his Ironmen teammates captured the Division III state championship. Last season, though, was one marred by injury aiding to Cleveland CC’s up and down season.

After a healthy AAU season playing for Friends 4 Life out of Cleveland, it appears Grady is primed to lead the Ironmen to another big season.
