JJHuddle Power Poll Division VI

Defending state champion Norwalk St. Paul dropped a 14-13 Week 2 decision to Tiffin Calvert and therefore dropped out of the JJHuddle Division VI Power Poll. Just how shocking was the loss? McComb beat Calvert 56-0 in Week 1. Here’s a look at who ended up where with the Flyers exit.

1. Delphos St. John’s (2-0)
So far the Blue Jays have beaten two playoff teams from last year, the latest victim being Jeromesville Hillsdale (35-7). Up next is winless Minster. But after that looms a date with current D-V No. 2 Anna. Previous: 1

2. Ada (2-0)
The Bulldogs scored 60 points in Week 1. In Week 2 they netted 70 (in a win over Spencerville). This week Ada hits the road for a match-up with fellow unbeaten Columbus Grove. Previous: 2

3. Marion Local (2-0)
The Flyers were supposed to be tested by last week’s road trip to Springfield Catholic Central. They weren’t. The result? A 36-14 win. This week Marion Local heads to winless New Bremen. Previous: 4

4. Covington (2-0)
After getting a scare from New Bremen in Week 1, the Buccs had an easier time of it against Bethel last week (won 28-7). This week a trip to surprising undefeated Bradford – led by former Mr. Football and NFL RB Curtis Enis – is on tap. Previous: 5

5. Newark Catholic (2-0)
The Green Wave trailed host Nelsonville-York 9-0 at halftime before rallying for a 13-9 victory.  Senior Britt Wilder scored both NC’s second half TDs. A trip to Fisher Catholic awaits in Week 3. Previous: 6

6. Bucyrus Wynford (2-0)
The Royals increased the state’s longest regular season winning streak to 40 games by escaping Sycamore Mohawk’s upset bid 7-0. Next up is winless East Knox. Previous: 7

7. Bridgeport (2-0)
The Bulldogs logged 394 yards of offense and only allowed 80 in a 42-0 win over Toronto. This week they hit the road for a game at winless Conotton Valley. Previous: 9

8. Mogadore (2-0)
The Good news is The Wildcats beat Smithville 31-13. The bad news is senior stud RB/LB Kodey Chance left the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. This week a trip to West Salem Northwestern awaits. Previous: 8

9. Lehman Catholic (1-1)
The Cavaliers snapped a six-year, 10-game losing streak to teams from the Midwest Athletic Conference with a 34-13 win over Minster. Next up is a visit from D-IV Indian Lake. Previous: 10

10. Fremont St. Joseph (2-0)
The Red Streaks beat their rival Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic 42-7 for their third straight win in the series. That, coupled with Week 1s 62-0 rout of Cardinal Stritch, means St. Joe’s is averaging 52 points per game. This week a trip to winless Gibsonburg is on the docket. Previous: NR
