Head coach Bob Spaite (117-56 in 16 years at Columbiana) has seven starters back on offense and six on defense.

The return of Barbato at QB is a strength on offense as is the return of a good OL core and seasoned RBs and WRs. Concerns include inexperience at center and guard and no “go-to” receiver.

Defensively, Spaite lists “attitude and tradition” as positives. Finding new starters at MBL and FS are priorities.

* Schedule –
“Our non-league schedule is, I BELIEVE, the toughest in the 94 years of Clipper football,” Spaite said. “We open with a tough, physical perennial D-V power in Monroe Central at Steubenville’s Big Red Stadium. It is a home game for us and should be a playoff atmosphere. Next is Leetonia, our oldest rival who is always one of the best teams in the area and is always very physical. Then with finish our non-league games with one of Trumbull County’s tough guy’s and one of the biggest teams we’ll face – Newton Falls.”
