No turkeys on this show, though! Just football and basketball…in July.

The MVP Podcast takes this time to be thankful for another beautiful July day, and accordingly offers you, the listener, a succulent Christmas-in-July offering.

No turkeys on this show, though!

Kurt Stubbs, the notable basketball analyst for JJHuddle.com, is here to talk about AAU basketball and the Ohio teams and players who were at the West Virginia Jam that went down last weekend.

Basketball is very much a relevant offering as the NCAA observation periods are in July – and Stubbs is all over the story.

We’ll also discuss Chane Behannon, formerly of Cinicinnati Aiken and currently the holder of a scholarship offer from the Ohio State University.

But this is Ohio, and therefore we cannot – we shall not – ignore the call of football for long.

Scott Clodfelter, the talented head coach of the Beavercreek High School Beavers, is also in the house. He was gracious enough to tell us the lay of the land in the heavily stacked GWOC Central as far as football is concerned.

Not a ceremonial choice for the show, they have a nice defense, the ability to move the ball on the ground and if things fall their way they could have a say in who will win the league championship – even if it isn’t likely to be the Beavers.

Kent Massie, of Tecumseh High School, is also here to talk about what it is like to lose virtually everyone and still have to compete in the very competitive Central Buckeye Conference .

It is a daunting task, but he is up to it – and he is an entertaining interview.

Best  of all, next week we’ll have Eric Frantz – the managing editor of JJHuddle.com – back to talk D-IV football, the new issue of Ohio High/Bucknuts magazine (confused? he’ll explain it to you again!), and much more.

All on the MVP Podcast!
