This week’s MVP podcast takes us to Plain City, just outside of Columbus, to visit with head coach Craig Kyle of the Jonathan Alder High School baseball squad.
The Pioneers at press time were the last remaining undefeated team in the state of Ohio.
They are also the No. 1 team in the final OHSBCA coaches’ state baseball poll for Division II.
We talked to Kyle as he sat in the rain trying to out wait (in vain) a rain delay that eventually forced the OHSAA to reschedule his regional semifinal contest against surprising Belbrook for Friday.
Dominant Alder pitcher, Tyler Miller, ended up throwing a no-hitter in that regional semifinal against Bellbrook, and with the 3-0 shutout he moves to a perfect 10-0 on the season.
Also on hand for this week’s show is head coach Jeff Fondreist of Tuscawarus Central Catholic.
Central Catholic is having another great season, and last week was a great example of that as they beat Berlin Hiland and the No. 1 ranked D-IV team in the state, Toronto High School – back to back.
The Saints survived what could be the toughest District in the entire state.
But Thursday night was a whole different story for Tuscawarus Central Catholic in the regional semifinal. Find out what happened, here, at the MVP podcast.
Next week we’ll have football, too. Ya gotta love it!
All of this–for free, folks–at the MVP podcast.
