The annual Ohio High Top 100 has officially been replaced by the Ohio High 200. We’ve doubled it for one simple reason…there’s enough talent in Ohio to warrant it.
Last year, 170 Ohio seniors earned Division I scholarships. This year over 120 already have offers. It’s not a stretch to consider this one of Ohio’s deepest high school football seasons ever in regards to individual ability.
And that talent is reflected in the Top 200 – our annual attempt to tab the state’s top college prospects.
Just how deep is the Class of 2011 in Ohio? The first six members of our list – in their own right – could make an argument that they deserve to be No. 1. And all the arguments would be strong. Any other year, each would probably own the top spot.
Besides that, the lists of colleges that are offering Ohio kids and the amount of offers their racking up are impressive.
Obviously Midwest powers Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame have logged many miles on Ohio freeways. So too though have coaches from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, USC, UCLA, Nebraska, Arizona, Oregon, LSU, Boise State, Oklahoma, Iowa, North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Iowa, West Virginia, Stanford, Boston College, Colorado, California, Tennessee…you get the picture. Those schools – and several others – have offered Ohio kids.
And what we’re offering here is a look at which players colleges are – and you should – look at this fall.
In addition to the Top 200, this issue of Ohio High features a total of over 600 players who need to be seen – and accounted for by opponents – this fall. We’ve dissected each position and list the Top 10, the Next Five and others to Keep An Eye On.
