Many weekends of my spring recruiting season have been spent at junior
days or combines. It seems strange not to have had a place to visit this
weekend. It was still a rather big weekend at Ashland High School as we
had our junior/senior prom.

I was thankful to have a break and enjoy myself as this weekend is a big one. I will be in Columbus this Friday and Saturday at the Elite 11 and Nike Camp.
Even without a college to visit this weekend the training does not stop. I have a seven days a week commitment to honing my skills and preparing for next season.
One of my goals of this off-season is to increase my speed to become a more viable college prospect and to add another dimension to my game this season. I train in Brunswick at Xpress Sports Training with Coach Pat Adams. He stresses running form, mechanics and combine drill preparation.
The most important advice that I can give to athletes attending combines is to be prepared. Training for events is paramount so athletes can maximize their performance and exposure. Just as there are position specific techniques in football there are specific techniques for the combine drills. This training at Xpress Sports is in addition to lifting and throwing with my teammates.
I am excited that this week I am heading back to Dublin Coffman to work with my quarterback Coach Cliff Stoudt. I give Coach Stoudt the credit for making me the quarterback that I am. He stresses the importance of being a quarterback both on and off the field.
My head coach, Scott Valentine gave me a heads up that Vanderbilt is coming to work me out this week. Vanderbilt likes what they see on film and wants to see me throw in person. I have had continuing contact with Harvard, Princeton and Dartmouth this week. My recruiting coach from Brown called.
Two schools that have added interest this week are Boise State and Miami University. Regardless of the week, my preparation for 2010 continues.
