The 2010 Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Top 100 Showcase took place this past Saturday, and we were on hand to observe this quality event.

We will start by letting you know that we weren’t able to see every player multiple times, but we were able to watch each kid at least once whether it was in drills or games. Therefore, if you don’t show up on this list, it certainly doesn’t mean you didn’t perform well.

Here are the kids that stood out to us:

MVP: Preston Williams (5’10/2013)- Youngstown Liberty
**The young point guard showed a high IQ for the game with the ability to lead his team. It wasn’t surprising after realizing he was a 4.0 student. Williams played good on-the-ball defense creating several steals and easy opportunities for his team. We witnessed him get to the basket in transition and lead the break sharing the sugar with his teammates.

MVP: Andre Yates (6’1/2012)- Trotwood-Madison
**We were able to witness Yates on several occasions, and came away impressed. The sophomore lefty struggled a bit with his jumper during the shooting drills, but the potential is there. During games, Yates was able to lead his team by pushing the tempo, getting into the lane, and finding open teammates for easy deuces.

MVP: Kristian Cross (6’4/2011)- Carrollton
**The undersized post, Cross, did whatever he wanted around the basket using his superior strength. Cross has excellent footwork and a knack for being in position for offensive rebounds. The Carrollton senior-to-be scored at will on tip-ins and using a nice post series.
