The Buckeyes’ landed a commitment very early from the top offensive lineman in the state of Ohio, Andrew Norwell from Cincinnati Anderson. The state’s other top blocker and Ohio’s No. 2 offensive lineman,
Matt James from Cincinnati St. Xavier has made his
decision too – and it’s not the same as Norwell.

The Buckeyes’ landed a commitment very early from the top offensive lineman in the state of Ohio, Andrew Norwell (6-7, 275) from Cincinnati (Ohio) Anderson.

The state’s other top blocker and the No. 2 offensive lineman in the Buckeye State,
Matt James (6-8, 285) from Cincinnati St. Xavier has made his
decision.  James has selected Notre Dame over scholarship offers from Ohio State and Cincinnati.

“I’m hoping to have a successful season. Help the team out and have
a good time,” James told Mike Dyer of Cincinnati.com.  “I think it will
be a pretty easy transition in that sense.”

“I think I learned a lot. I have gotten better at communicating with people. …I have grown a lot through the process.”

James made official visits to all three schools.  In addition to those three he also had scholarship offers from Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Penn State, Illinois, Stanford and many others.  James cancelled an official visit to Florida.

After making his three official visits James narrowed things down to
the Buckeyes and Fighting Irish before coming to a decision.

James will likely play offensive right tackle in college.  In the Ohio Football Recruiting News rankings he is the No.  3 overall prospect.
