one of Ohio’s top running backs ever and arguably Central Ohio’s top ball carrier ever…hear that Archie?

49. Maurice Hall, Columbus Brookhaven, Football, 1997-2001: The former Ohio State standout didn’t win Mr. Football (Maurice Clarett did), but Hall had one of the greatest singular seasons in state history as a senior when he rushed for a state record 50 TDs in 2000. His 51 total TDs that season ranks No. 2 all-time (behind Hubert Bobo who set the record with 52 in 1952). Hall ended his career ranked among the Top 20 in several other state record categories as well, including: rushing TDs in a career (No. 9 with 84), points in a season (No. 10 with 270) and points in a game (No. 15 with 46). His eight rushing TDs against Columbus Briggs in 2000 is tied with three others for the best performance in state history. Hall holds Columbus City League records for yards (3,057), points (270) and TDs. He’s just one of six backs in history to surpass 3,000 yards in a season.
