Dayton Jefferson power forward Adreian Payne, ranked as the No. 23 player in the country by ESPN, has informed us he will announce his college decision Thursday.

Dayton Jefferson power forward Adreian Payne has kept his lips sealed throughout the recruiting process.

But the No. 23-ranked player in the country according to ESPN informed us Wednesday that he will announce his college decision Thursday.

We sat down with Payne and Jefferson head basketball coach Art Winston this afternoon for over an hour for another story we are working when he informed us of the pending announcement.

Payne said he is going to select either Kentucky, West Virginia, Arizona or Michigan State and told us he has made his decision but hasn’t told those close to him yet which school he has selected.

Payne said he will inform his family tonight and will call the head coach of the college he has chosen tonight with his decision.

Plans are in the works with ESPN to announce Payne’s decision live on television at a location yet to be determined.

Payne, rated as the No. 9 power forward in the country, was a Division IV All-Ohio Special Mention selection last season.
