2009 Buckeye Prep Report Elite Showcase does its job, displays talent

The 2009 Buckeye Prep Report Elite Showcase was held this past Sunday
at Gahanna Lincoln High School and close to 100 kids grades 6 through 9
entertained a large gathering of fans, coaches, parents, family, and
scouts. The event, run by Rob Taylor, was once again a total success.


The 2009 Buckeye Prep Report Elite Showcase was held this past Sunday at Gahanna Lincoln High School and close to 100 kids grades 6 through 9 entertained a large gathering of fans, coaches, parents, family, and scouts.

The event, run by Rob Taylor, was once again a total success. The top-notch elite showcase ran smooth; the kids played hard, and most were able to gain some more exposure.

In an a event such as this the goal is get these youngsters some early exposure, and several of the state’s top scouts were in attendance including John Stovall of Prep Spotlight and ESPNU, Chas Wolfe of Inside Prep Sports, and Chris Johnson of Hoop Scoop.

Each team competed in three league games concluding with two all-star tilts. The 6th/7th grade game and the 8th/9th grade encounter.

We will refrain from mentioning about the 6th/7th grade divisions, but if Sunday was any indication the Buckeye state is in good hands for years to come.

Though, some of the state’s top freshmen were not in attendance there were still an array of talent in Gahanna.

Some elite freshmen names absent from the showcase were Demonte Flannigan, Mark Williams, Tony Farmer, Marc Loving, Nigel Hayes, Devin Williams, Garrett Maylebin, and CJ Bussey. However, that is not to take away from some of the elite prospects that were able to attend.
