Wynford’s drop from D-V to VI makes Region 21 the toughest in the
state. The Royals have put together three undefeated regular seasons in
the last four years and are riding a 33-game North Central Conference
win streak. Don’t expect that trend to end this season.

Wynford has the state’s No. 47-ranked senior prospect overall in Brause who projects as an athlete and possibly a tight end at the next level. Despite coming from a small school, Brause has already been offered by Stanford, Syracuse, Iowa State, Maryland and a slew of MAC aschools. He’s also camped at Ohio State and may earn a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes. Last year, Brause accounted for 30 TDs, while throwing for 1,795 yards and rushing for another 698.

Brause isn’t the only D-I prospect the Royals have. Eatmon is also garnering plenty of attention. The OL-prospect has offers from Louisville, Syracuse, Indiana, Iowa State, Bowling Green, Ohio, Kent State and Akron. Eatmon caught only five passes last season, but four went for TDs.

Brown (special mention All-Ohio) is a big-time target in the passing game.

Defensively, Wynford will be led by Niedermier (71 tackles, 2.5 sacks, interception), Chatlin (60 tackles, four sacks, two INTs), McNulty (48 tackles, 12 sacks), Brewington (43 tackles) and Brown (38 tackles).

East Knox is a newcomer to the non-league slate.

Said head coach Travis Moyer (83-25 in 10 years): “We’re excited about the opportunity to compete for championships.”
