Today, we are proud to announce the spring edition of the famous – and sometimes infamous – Ohio High Top 100 football prospects in the Class of 2010.
But this isn’t your father’s Top 100. We’ve changed systems.
It is that time of year again – when we thank the 2009 football class for the memories, wave goodbye and wish them well in college.
Enter the 2010 class and the top 100 football prospects in Ohio.
Today, we are proud to announce the spring edition of the famous – and sometimes infamous – Ohio High Top 100 for the Class of 2010. The Ohio High Top 100 has a bit of a new look this year and we like to think it is for the better.
In year’s past, Recruiting Analyst Duane Long spearheaded the Top 100 with input from coaches and experts from around Ohio. Well, Long has stepped away and moved on to new endeavors. We had a great run with Long and we thank him for his years of service and expertise.
But with every door that closes, another one opens and we thought it was time for a facelift. We found this as an opportunity to revamp the Top 100 and take a collaborative approach in compiling a thorough list of the players we feel are the best football prospects in Ohio’s 2010 class.
With the best resources at our fingertips, we took on the challenge and are more than pleased with the results.
What are those resources, you ask?
Start with close to 600 videos and information on 700 players from our affiliate site Scouting Ohio operated by Mark Porter; knowledge from Recruiting Analyst Bill Kurelic from our sister site Bucknuts; and, of course, input from Ohio High Managing Editor Eric Frantz and Assistant Editor Matt Natali.
Based on coverage from over 100 games from the 2008 season, hours of video analysis, spring camps and combine performances and scholarship offers already extended, we have information overload.
The result? The most complete and thorough Top 100 we have ever released in the spring edition. In fact, we’ve extended it to the Top 150!
What you will find is the Top 100 players in the 2010 class plus 50 more players we have tabbed ‘Contenders’ that have a legitimate shot at cracking the Top 100.
Following the camp and combine circuit this summer, we will reevaluate the Top 100 – and beyond – and release the updated list before the 2009 season kicks off.

* Note: The spring edition of the Ohio High Top 100 will be featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Ohio High Magazine – to be released in May – and we will include complete profiles and evaluations of Ohio’s top prospects. Plus, we will have a complete list of players to ‘Also Keep An Eye On’ broken down by position.
