You know those emails you don’t read and throw in the trash? Might want
to double-check them. Had Cincinnati Moeller’s wrestling coaches done
so, Graham standout senior David Taylor might be a Crusader today.

You know those emails you don’t read and throw in the trash? Might want to double-check them. Had Cincinnati Moeller’s wrestling coaches done so, Graham standout senior David Taylor might be a Crusader today.

Taylor’s family moved to Ohio from Wyoming when he was entering the sixth-grade, the result of his father – a pilot for Delta – being transferred from the Salt Lake City Airport to Cincinnati.

The Taylor’s had a choice of Boston, Atlanta and Cincinnati. They chose Ohio for obvious wrestling reasons.

Taylor’s school selection wasn’t as cut and dry.

“When we knew we were moving to Ohio we started looking around at some programs,” Taylor, who is ranked No. 1 in the country at 135 pounds, said. “At the time there was a big article about Moeller and how they had just got a big, brand new wrestling room. My dad actually emailed their coach and he never returned the email. So we looked elsewhere. If he had returned that email, it’s possible I’d be at Cincinnati Moeller.”

Taylor ended up at Graham, a program he was familiar with due to attending head coach Jeff Jordan’s summer camps.
