Former Cincinnati LaSalle, current Buckeye dispels transfer rumors
Every year between the end of the college football season and signing day, fans are clamoring for information and eventually rumors about future and current players spread like wildfire.
The latest rumor involves former Cincinnati LaSalle wide receiver and current Ohio State Buckeye DeVier Posey. It was originally posted on a high school sports Web site message board that Posey was set to transfer from Ohio State to Cincinnati.
We caught up with Posey to set the record straight.
“I am a Buckeye,” he said. “Why would I leave the place that I love?”
With Buckeye receiver Brian Robiskie graduating and junior receiver Brian Hartline declaring his eligibility for the NFL draft this week, most project Posey to be the go-to receiver next season in his sophomore campaign.
Posey (6-foot-3, 205) had 13 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in his freshman season with Ohio state, including two catches in the Fiesta Bowl.
Posey was a U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection as a senior at LaSalle.
