Kurelic’s Ohio Class Of 2010 Top 10


Jamel Turner is in critical condition in Youngstown after getting shot for the second time in two months.

The latest edition of Recruiting Anaylst Bill Kurelic’s Top 10 juniors in the Ohio is here. Who are the top juniors in Ohio, who has moved up and who has been offered?

1. LB Jamel Turner
(6’2, 215, 4.55, Youngstown Ursuline)
Committed to Ohio State. Bucknuts broke the news on Tuesday first that Turner had a press conference to announce his decision, then that he had committed to Ohio State. Turner is one of the country’s top prospects and a huge ‘get’ for the Bucks.
2. LB Jordan Hicks
(6’2, 200, 4.5, West Chester Lakota West)
Ohio State, Texas, Illinois, Stanford, West Virginia, Florida, Michigan State and a few others Texas still leads the Bucks, but Hicks is not expected to make a decision soon. This could end up being a very difficult decision between the two for Hicks.
3. OL Matt James
(6’8, 280, 5.2, Cincinnati St. Xavier)
Ohio State, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Stanford, Michigan, Illinois, Duke and a few others. James seems to be favoring Ohio State, Notre Dame and Cincinnati, but is not close to making a decision.
4. DE Darryl Baldwin
(6’6, 245, 4.7, Solon)
Ohio State, West Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Stanford, Akron, Texas and Notre Dame Baldwin has offers from all of the schools on his list except Texas and Notre Dame. The Buckeyes continue to hold the lead.


5. OL Andrew Norwell
(6’6, 270, 5.3, Cincinnati Anderson)
Ohio State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Louisville, Indiana, Duke and a few others. Norwell has offers from the schools on his list as well as Illinois. Though Norwell’s brother Chris Norwell played for Illinois, Andrew is not really considering the Illini. Ohio State is his leader.
6. LB Scott McVey
(6-1, 225, 4.5, Cleveland St. Ignatius)
Ohio State, Boston College and Michigan State. McVey had a great junior season and was spectacular in the state championship game. He has offers from the three schools listed.  Ohio State holds the lead with Boston College second.
7. OL Andrew Donnal
(6-7, 250, 4.91, Whitehouse Anthony Wayne)
Ohio State, Illinois, Stanford, Iowa, Maryland, Toledo and others Donnal has offers from all of the schools listed except Ohio State. He is looking at all of them and some others.
8. ATH Spencer Ware
(5’11, 210, 4.48, Cincinnati Princeton)
Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Clemson, Florida, Miami, Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Duke Ware is interested in Ohio State, but says Georgia is his early favorite. He has offers from OSU, Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Duke.
9. DL J.T. Moore
(6-3, 230, 4.9, Youngstown Boardman)
Committed to Ohio State. Moore became Ohio State’s first class of 2010 commitment when he selected the Buckeyes in mid-September.
10. RB Erick Howard
(5-11, 205, 4.55, North Canton Hoover)
Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida, Cincinnati, Indiana and others. Howard, who had a great junior season and was named Ohio’s “Mr. Football,” attended the Buckeyes’ junior day on Saturday.
