Week 7 marks beginning of the home stretch for the football regular season

The following is a look at some of the key games for the seventh weekend of Ohio high school football, including televison broadcast and webcast information.

Fox Sports Ohio will televise will carry Solon at Brunswick at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Ohio News Network will have Columbus DeSales at Columbus Watterson. DeSales won 13-6 last year to snap Watterson’s nine-game winning streak in the series.

Also, PressBoxProductions.net will have an audio webcast of Coldwater at St. Henry Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Key games Friday: Garfield Heights at Cuyahoga Falls, West Geauga at Aurora, Cleveland Glenville tackles Cleveland John Marshall, Granville at Newark Licking Valley (Valley swept a pair of games from Granville last year, winning 28-0 in the regular season and 42-21 in the playoffs), Painesville Harvey at Conneaut, Bellbrook at Eaton, Dublin Scioto at Westerville Central, Massillon Jackson at Youngstown Boardman, Groveport Madison at Pickerington Central, Springfield at Clayton Northmont and Toledo St. John’s at Toledo Whitmer.

Also Friday: Worthington Kilbourne at Hilliard Davidson, Cincinnati Elder meets Cincinnati Moeller at UC’s Nippert Stadium (Elder won 49-33 last year), Cincinnati St. Xavier at Cincinnati LaSalle, Lakewood St. Edward at Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep, Dublin Coffman at Hilliard Darby (Coffman downed Darby 42-35 in a regional final match-up last year), Lexington at Wooster, Wheeling Park (W.Va.) at Steubenville, Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit at Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary, Anna at Minster, Youngstown Liberty at Cortland Lakeview, Harrison at Cincinnati Winton Woods, Cincinnati Colerain at Middletown and Cleveland Benedictine at Youngstown Mooney (at YSU’s Stambaugh Stadium; Mooney won 31-17 last year).

In a battle of unbeatens, Louisville hosts Alliance Friday. Also, unbeatens Wheelersburg and Minford will clash at Wheelersburg. Bascom Hopewell-Loudon visits Carey in a battle of 6-0 teams. And unbeatens McDonald and Berlin Western Reserve meet at Western Reserve.

On Saturday, Canton McKinley hosts Massillon Perry, while Warren Harding visits Cleveland St. Ignatius.
