New Miami ended a drought last year with its first winning season in 13 years. Now the key is to sustain momentum.

“If the team can stay away from injuries the hope is to build on
last year’s success,” head coach Jeremy Rogers said. “We have a group
of committed upperclassmen that have finally learned what it takes to
win and have success.”

New Miami ended a drought last year with its first winning season in 13 years. Now the key is to sustain momentum.

“If the team can stay away from injuries the hope is to build on last year’s success,” head coach Jeremy Rogers said. “We have a group of committed upperclassmen that have finally learned what it takes to win and have success.”

One of those upperclassman is running back Josh Hampton. A 5-11, 165 pound senior, Hampton rushed for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He is 1,300 yards shy of the school’s career rushing record.

Seniors Kenny Gabbard (6-0, 230) and Richie Hacker (5-9, 200) return to the offensive line, while Kris Roberts (5-10, 220) returns to a defensive end spot. Roberts had 70 tackles, including 12 for loss last season.

“The offensive and defensive lines will be the strength of the team,” Rogers said.

Last year the Vikings started 3-0 before losing three straight to Lockland, North College Hill and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. The same trifecta awaits the Vikings in Weeks 4-6 again.
