The Hudson Explorers must replace a number of key playmakers from last year, including QB/SS Alex Gedeon and several of his top receivers but head coach Tom Narducci is confident in his defense to carry the team early on.

The Explorers must replace a number of key playmakers from last year, including QB/SS Alex Gedeon and several of his top receivers. Piekarski and Brandy will compete for the quarterback role.
Meyer and Dorenkott are key candidates at the running back position.
Vehar and Winters started on the offensive and defensive lines last year, but may work strictly on the defensive line this year.
“The offensive line may be a cast of all juniors,” said coach Tom Narducci, returning for his 14th season at Hudson.
In addition to Vehar and Winters, Sweterlitsch returns on the defensive line. He tallied 47 tackles last year. Dorenkott is back at linebacker, where he had 48 tackles a year ago. Rose and Tyler key the secondary.
“Once again, Hudson’s defense will be the strength on this year’s team,” Narducci said. “We will be counting on a number of underclassmen to step up and help continue that tradition.”
Hudson could have an edge in close games: Coberly booted a school-record 45-yard field goal last year against Stow.
