This year’s event will feature American Christian (Pa.) G Tyreke Evans, who is regarded by many as the top recruit in the country for the class of 2008. Evans (6-6, 190) averaged over 25 points per game last season, is pouring in 36 points this season and it entertaining scholarship offers from Seton Hall, Louisville, Memphis, Connecticut, Texas and Villanova.

Evans’ and his American Christian teammates are scheduled to take on Cincinnati Withrow at 5:30 p.m. Withrow (6-1), which lost a 1-point heartbreaker to Cincinnati St. Xavier in the regional finals last season, features University of Cincinnati recruit Yancy Gates. St. Xavier has lost to Moeller four straight times, most recently, a 63-54 contest last week. The Bombers are led by senior F Walt Gibler (6-7, 220), who leads the GCL in scoring this season and is a Loyola (Chicago) recruit.

Cincinnati LaSalle junior F Danny McElroy (6-7, 240) has already issued a verbal commitment to the hometown Bearcats and is pouring in 16.8 points per game this season. He will lead the Lancers against Grady (N.Y.) at 3:45 p.m.

Three-time defending Division III state champion North College Hill will battle Chillicothe at 7:15 p.m. in a game that will feature two talented point guards. Damon Butler (5-9, 165) headlines the NCH roster this season for the 6-2 Trojans and is rated at the No. 151 PG in the country by ESPN. He is averaging 21.6 ponits per game this season. Akron recruit Anthony Hitchens (5-10, 170) leads Chillicothe from the point.

In what has quickly grown into a fierce rivalry, Dayton Dunbar (5-1) is set to play Cincinnati Taft (6-0) at 9:00 p.m. Dunbar, which has two straight Division II state championships, has had Taft’s number winning the last four meetings including two tournament games.
