The Wildcats return one starter from last year and have a roster dotted with four freshman and two sophomores.

“Offensively we are talented and should be able to score, but we may struggle defensively due to lack of size and inexperience at the varsity level,” head coach Jason Grey said. “ We will have to mature throughout the season and improve each game.”

Senior forward Heather Young (5-7) is the lone returning starter for a club that went 9-13 last season and 6-9 in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division. Young averaged 3 points and 2 rebounds per game. Grey describes Young as “a solid athlete and great defender who will have to provide leadership to a young team.”

Young is the lone senior on the team. Juniors Ashley Watkins (5-5, G), Julia Richardson (5-6, G) and Rebbecca Brooks (5-4, G) will need to contribute as well.

The Wildcats last league title came in 1994 in the now-defunct Kenton Trace Conference.
