In a defensive struggle at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, Massillon's turnovers and Solon's goal-line stand were the main differences in the Comets 10-3 victory.  A key turnover in the fourth period gave Solon great field position and they went on to score the only touchdown of the game and it was good enough to escape with a victory.

Solon's Pat Jacobs connects from 35 yards out.

Massillon's Steve Schott does the same from 44 yards away.

K.J. Herring rushed for 19 yards on 9 carries.

Turner started the second half off with this 87-yard return down to the 3 yard line.

But when the offense couldn't punch it in on four consecutive running plays…

…Massillon turned it over on downs and the defense came on the field.

Torrence can't haul this pass in around the 14 yard line of Solon.

Senior Corey Hildreth's fumble on a punt return in the fourth period opened the gates for Solon…

…to punch in the winning score from the one…

…three plays later on a run up the middle by Jim Geitz.

The final score

This high pass went off the hands of Torrence and was intercepted to thwart Massillon's last drive of the game
