Valley View blocked a game tying field goal with less than a minute left to pick up the week two 24-21 win in a back-and-forth, dogfight of a football game.

GERMANTOWN – Valley View held off Indian Hill blocking a game tying field goal with less than a minute left to pick up the week two 24-21 win.

Spartans running back Travis Dalton paced the ground game with 130 yards rushing on 30 carries including a 57-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to open up the scoring. Andy Gebslinger and Evan Clark combined for 75 yards on nine carries.

Quarterback Lucas Dawson led the aerial attack going 11-of-21 passing for 144 yards.

Johnny Day had four catches for 91 yards including a 39-yard touchdown from Chris Cason to put Valley View up a touchdown in the second quarter.

Indian Hill quarterback Bo Cordell was 18-of-35 passing for 200 yards and a game tying touchdown in the second quarter to Ted Bolser on a 25-yard strike in the Braves spread offense.

Tied 14-14 at halftime, Indian Hill's Matt Keller opened up the second half with a 95-yard return for a touchdown.

The Braves made some adjustments at halftime going to the ground game led by Leonard Riston, who had 76 yards on 12 carries. Indian Hill had 99 yards rushing on the night.

Valley View (2-0) had 385 yards of offense to Indian Hill's (1-1) 299.

The Spartans win snapped a 27 regular season game winning streak for the Braves.
